The 148th running of the Run for the Roses will be simulcast this Saturday (May 7) at Turf Paradise and at all of the track’s OTBs. There will also be live racing which marks the closing day of the track’s 124-day live race season.
The three morning-line Derby favorites in the field of twenty 3-year-olds are Zandon, 3-1; Epicenter, 7-2 and Messier, 8-1. This does not rule out the 17 other horses. Such is the nature of the Kentucky Derby and why it is such a unique and fun event and an annual rite of spring.
At Turf Paradise:
Doors open: 7:00 am
1st Churchill simulcast: 7:35 am
1st Turf Paradise live race: 11:35 am
Ky Derby post time: 3:57 pm.
At Turf Paradise the first floor of the Grandstand and the Clubhouse will be open. The Clubhouse is on a first come, first served basis. There is no admission or seating charge. Vending machines dispensing salads and sandwiches are available. Patrons may bring in their own food except for alcoholic beverages.
A food truck serving Bar-B-Que and a hot dog vendor will be available on the Grandstand apron.
