The two-day,15-race series hosted by Santa Anita Race Track which comprises the $30 million Breeders’ Cup World Championship races will be simulcast this Friday and Saturday at Turf Paradise and at all of 58 Off Track Betting locations.
 
Live racing will accompany both days of Breeders’ Cup (BC) races. Friday’s first of five BC races is set for 9:20 am; live race post is 12:55 pm. Saturday’s first of nine BC simulcasts is also 9:20 am, but live race’s first post is 11:35 am.
 
Each of the 15 BC races represents a championship contest for that division. The hallmark BC race is Saturday’s $6 million BC Classic.
 
Local live feature races Saturday will be for 2-year-olds, the $50,000 ATBA Fall Sales Futurity for colts and geldings and spilt divisions for the fillies, one for $60,685 and the other for $51,481.

Making victory look like a walk in the park, heavily favored Dreamy Gal raced to a three-length victory in the $25,000 Princess of Palms Stakes Saturday at Turf Paradise.
 
Confidently ridden by Daniel Vergara, the favored Dreamy Gal ($5.40) cruised to the lead at the head of the stretch and easily drew clear of Ismelucky and the dependable Senoradiablo who finished third in the field of 10 fillies and mares.
 
Trained by Molly Pearson for owner John Pendergast, Dreamy Gal covered the 6-furlongs in 1:09.65 for her fourth win in 21 outings. The 5-year-old daughter of Ez Dreamer now has a bankroll of $167,158.
 
The top three finishers were exiting previous races at Del Mar.

A talented dozen fillies and mares will headline the $25,000 Princess of Palms Stakes Saturday at Turf Paradise.
 
The 6-furlong Princess will go as the seventh race on an eight race card with first post at 12:55 pm.
 
The Edward Cardenas-trained Foggia has been made the lukewarm 4-1 favorite in a field where any entrant’s best effort could land them in the winner’s circle. The 4-year-old Foggia, winner of eight of 24 career efforts, comes into this race with four Emerald Downs’ victories in her last six starts. By the exceptionally fast sire Rocky Bar, Foggia will benefit from consummate reinsman Glenn Corbett while trying to dictate the tempo of the race as is her front-running custom.
 
The 3-year-old Tiz Wild Wind, has been coming into hand for trainer by Kevin Eikleberry, winning Arapahoe’s Vannacide Stakes, third in that track’s Oaks and the a credible fourth in an optional claiming event at Del Mar.
 
A second Cardenas entry, Senoradiablo, also merits a look. The 5-time winner of 15 outings, the late-closing Senoradiablo comes off a fourth place finish against $50,000 claimers at Del Mar.
 
The lightly raced 3-year-old Chance to Shine, trained by Dan McFarlane, has won three of five outings, while coming from slightly off the pace. The daughter of Morning Line may benefit from a field where a speed battle upfront is all but assured.

A top to bottom bet-able full-field of 12 horses in the $25,000 Bienvenidos Stakes will highlight opening day of the 64th racing season Saturday at Turf Paradise.
 
A 138-day meet will run from opening day October 12 thru May 3, 2020. Racing will be conducted primarily on a 5-day a week basis, Saturday thru Wednesday with post time at 12:55 pm. Special live racing will also take place on three Fridays: November 1 (first day of Breeders’ Cup Championship) and November 29 (the day after Thanksgiving), and May 1 (Kentucky Oaks Day).
 
In addition to the Bienvenidos (Welcome Back) the first 5,000 fans will receive a free opening day T-shirt. There will be free multiple bounce inflatables for the kids and live music on the Grandstand apron. A special award will be presented to Bill Shaner, who has not missed an opening day since the track opened first opened for business in 1956.
 
A case can be made for each of the 12 entrants in the 6 ½ furlong Bienvenidos off their best running lines. The field is divided between those horse which summer campaigned at Canterbury Park or Emerald Downs and five shippers from Santa Anita.
 
Six-time and current leading trainer Robertino Diodoro, who has won this race four times, including last year’s edition, has entered three horses headed by the multiple stakes winner Oil Money and 7-year-old veteran Silver Ride who boasts a career bankroll of $343,346.
 
The horse mostly likely to curry favoritism is the Kevin Eikleberry-trained Fortified Effort, who has finished no worse than second, including four wins, in the last nine starts. The 4-year-old son of Ez Effort has won 11 of 24 efforts with seven of those win coming at Turf Paradise.
