Turf Paradise’s Holiday racing schedule will list Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25) as Dark Days, meaning no live or simulcast racing. Live racing and simulcasting resume Saturday, Dec. 26, which is also the traditional opening day of Santa Anita.
The New Year’s schedule will be as follows: New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) and New Year’s Day will feature simulcasts only. Live racing returns Saturday, Jan. 2. All live race post times are 12:40 pm.
In addition, turf racing will take its annual hiatus for winter rye seeding, with the last grass race set for Dec. 16. There will be a 30-day dormant period for re-seeding and fertilizing.
