Natasha Coddington and Blue Bomber lulled the competition to sleep by posting a start to finish mild upset in the $27,000 Wildcat Handicap Saturday at Turf Paradise.
Shooting out of the gate and opening up as much as a 20-length lead, Blue Bomber ($13.80) had plenty in reserve when the field came closing to win the marathon 1 3/8 turf test by two lengths in 2:17.10. Sir Searsucker finished second 1 ¼ lengths in front of Carouse who finished third the field of eight. Owned by Jim McFadyen and trained by Robertino Diodoro, Blue Bomber earned $16,238 for his victory, raising his career earnings to $85,371. Arizona Stallion Stakes The extended neck of Hey Ez Money ($12.40) got the victory over a determined Lieutenant Margie in the $39,492 Arizona Stallion Stakes with Waste It Wisely third in the field of ten 3-year-old Arizona breds. Jake Barton was aboard Hey Ez Money for owners Tamara Anderson, Brent Stapley, Delwyn Ellis and Linden Hatch and trainer F.C. Frazier. Hey Ez Money covered the 7 ½ furlongs over turf in 1:31.20.
