An inspection team from the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) is expected to arrive at Turf Paradise on Monday afternoon. Both Turf Paradise management and the Arizona HBPA anticipate having the track ready for testing Tuesday morning with training on the main track starting as soon as Wednesday morning. Training would continue through Sunday with live racing starting on Monday November 11th (Veterans’ Day).
There will be live racing the first week from Monday through Thursday. Gates will open at 10am and the first post time for live racing will be 12:40om. General admission is $5 and includes entry to Grandstand and to the Clubhouse. General parking is free as is Grandstand seating. Seating in the Clubhouse is $5 per person.
Arizona HBPA President Lloyd Yother said, “The horsemen and Turf Paradise management are working hand and hand with HISA and the Arizona Racing Commission to ensure we have a safe meet.”
Turf Paradise General Manager Vince Francia said, “Sincere thanks to our track maintenance crews, the horsemen, and everyone involved in getting us ready to start another great season of racing.”
The two stakes races that had been scheduled for November 2nd have been rescheduled. The $40,000 Jeff and Jack Coady Sr. Handicap will be run on Wednesday November 13th. The $40,000 Hank Mills Jr. Handicap will be run on Thursday November 14th.
